Converting Air Delay to Miles for Motorola Canopy Radios

Motorola Canopy radios report distance as air delay.

To convert air delay into miles for Canopy 2.4 GHz, Canopy 5.7 GHz and the new Canopy OFDM radios the formula is:

((AIRDELAY * 1176) * 0.125) / 5280

For some reason the 900 MHz radio formula is a little different:

((AIRDELAY * 1176) * 0.0416) / 5280

    Thanks buddy, really useful. But if “0.0416″ change to “0.0419″, the final result would be more closely to the output from Canopy.
